Miller mused, “A band ought to have a sound all of its own. It ought to have a personality.” The Glenn Miller Orchestra’s notable and record-breaking recordings and top 10 hits include In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Chattanooga Choo Choo, A String of Pearls, At Last, (I've Got a Gal In) Kalamazoo, Tuxedo Junction, and Little Brown Jug.
Sadly, in 1944 while he was traveling to Paris to entertain U.S. troops in Europe during World War II, Glenn Miller's aircraft disappeared in bad weather over the English Channel and he was never seen again.
